Integrating match comms and rant boards with Discord
Ladder logic (moving around after wins)
Information display (team: names, logos, bios, links)
History (team history and newly: rung history)
Roster management (apply, accept, remove)
With these (and many more) having passed internal/dev we’re opening tests in the public to selected testers and having quick 5 minute matches to try to rapidly simulate a longer period of time and discover any showstoppers before opening public ladders.
A huge thanks to everyone involved and big big high5s to insider who applied amazing generous crucial assistance which is deeply appreciated!
I’m opening up 1-on-1s with the admins I’ve been speaking to over the last few months and booking more with deeper demos and explanations as focus now adds the task of onboarding folks for games and getting back to it!
Our development environment has been significantly updated, it is far friendlier for developers now and of course we’d be happy to receive more! Our public tests have been fruitful and allowed us to squish a ton of bugs. We’re finally in a position where we feel we can be adding some QOL functions (eg: admin tools rather than DB edits) on top of simply iterating through cases and finding more (eg: teams that moved down rungs as a result of two teams having a match). We’re now eyeballing the bits we left for last, items like: opening up team signups, scaling the ladders horizontally to handle more titles. We don’t have release dates committed to a calendar because we’re donating our free time to building this but the remaining feature list strongly suggests ‘soon’ as a launch date.
we have all been waiting for something like this. Those vets that have been here before are well aware how much actually sweaty fun it was on the Desert Combat ladder. Little did we know then it would spawn Battlefield 2 and later titles that scratched the competitive itch.
I look forward to this like xmas is coming early….
